Frequently Asked Questions

Our jewellery is crafted from silver and is often adorned with semi-precious gemstones or lab-created diamonds.

"Sterling silver" and "925 silver" refer to the same basic material but emphasise different things: composition vs. designation.Key pointsComposition: Sterling silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals (usually copper). That 92.5% silver content is the defining chemical makeup. Marking/term: "925" (or ".925") is the standard numerical hallmark indicating 92.5% silver by weight. When you see "925" stamped on jewellery, it verifies that the piece is sterling silver. Why the alloy? Pure silver (fine silver, 999 or .999) is too soft for most functional items. Adding other metals increases hardness and durability while retaining silver’s appearance.Common alternatives and confusion: "Sterling" = standard trade name; "925" = assay mark. They are interchangeable in practice. "Silver-plated" or "vermeil" are different: a base metal coated with a thin layer of silver; they are not 925/sterling unless the base is sterling and the mark explicitly states so. "Coin silver" historically varied (~90%); not the same as modern sterling."Fine silver" (999) is purer but softer and not called sterling.
